The two towers

The hotel at Caesars Windsor has 758 rooms split between two towers. The Forum Tower came first: 22 storeys and 389 rooms, opened in 1998 with the permanent riverfront resort. That resort followed a temporary casino that had opened in May 1994 as Ontario's first.

In 2008 the Augustus Tower was added, part of a $400 million expansion completed that June. It stands 27 storeys and holds 369 rooms. The same expansion brought a convention centre and a 5,000-seat entertainment centre. On June 19, 2008, the resort was relaunched as Caesars Windsor.

Pool and gym

The indoor pool at Caesars Windsor is open year-round and is for adults only. It has a whirlpool and deck chairs. The view runs across the river to the Detroit skyline. Children cannot use it, so families should plan their time around that.

A health club and a fitness centre are also part of the resort. Gym hours and equipment are not listed in this guide; the hotel at 1-800-991-7777 can answer those questions.

Staying with someone under 19

Travelling with someone under 19 is possible, with limits. All ages are welcome in the Augustus Tower and in the convention complex. The casino and its related outlets are 19+. Ontario law says no one under 19 may enter or remain in a gaming site, except in the course of employment. The indoor pool is adults only.

Check-in and check-out times are not published here. For those, and for questions about a younger guest's stay, call the hotel at 1-800-991-7777 or the local line, 519-258-7878. The address is 377 Riverside Drive East, Windsor, Ontario N9A 7H7.

When the night runs late

The casino floor at Caesars Windsor is open 24/7, with slots and tables running non-stop. The poker room keeps the same hours, with 14 tables, and it is a World Series of Poker room. Tim Hortons stays open 24 hours and is tagged 19 and up, so coffee at 3 AM is on the table.

One general habit helps on any late night: decide when it ends before the first bet. Pick a time or a spending limit, and keep to it.
